What the Odournet test measured
This report assesses carbon filtration alone, with no added fragrance, under controlled stale-urine malodour conditions. It did not test the freestanding Residential configuration or establish dog-smell, cooking-smell or domestic-room performance. Interpret the results within the report’s tested conditions.
Odournet UK Ltd, an ISO 17025-accredited sensory consultancy, conducted a rigorous assessment of Ecobreeze’s carbon filter in isolation, with no added fragrance, in chambers simulating stale urine malodor.
Mean perceived odour intensity was 4.4 in the untreated chamber and 2.3 in the treated chamber on the 0–6 VDI 3882 intensity scale.
Hedonic tone improved from -2.5 (very unpleasant) to -1.1 (slightly unpleasant), indicating that assessors found the treated odour less unpleasant.

Odournet UK Ltd, an ISO 17025-accredited sensory consultancy, conducted a rigorous assessment of Ecobreeze’s carbon filter in isolation, with no added fragrance, in chambers simulating stale urine malodor.
The findings:
Mean perceived odour intensity was 4.4 in the untreated chamber and 2.3 in the treated chamber on the 0–6 VDI 3882 intensity scale.
Hedonic tone improved from -2.5 (very unpleasant) to -1.1 (slightly unpleasant), indicating that assessors found the treated odour less unpleasant.
Odour concentration in the treated chamber was below the method’s limit of detection and too weak to quantify reliably. The results indicated a statistically valid difference between the treated and untreated conditions, supporting an effect from carbon filtration alone under the test conditions.
Results showed statistically valid differences at a 95% confidence level.
